  5. STEPS:
  6.       A) Insert the distribution floppy in one of your drives for example A:
  7.       B) Switch to that floppy drive by typing for example "A:<enter>"
  8.       C) type INSTALL
  9.       D) Select your Installation Floppy Drive
  10.       E) Select your Display Adapter
  11.       F) Press Enter and the software will be installed and run for the first
  12.          time

  15.          From this point on to activate the keyboard Driver, each time you
  16. power on your PC , just type GREEK.

  23.                     Generic information on VGAGREEK
  24.  
  25.     The screen drivers are built for both VGA and EGA screens, theyhave been
  26. tested under many different systems, and will even support ost of the 132
  27. column modes modern boards provide. The three standard fonts 16x8 , 14x8 and
  28. 8x8 are the ones used. If a certain mode uses none of the above fonts then
  29. the manufacturer of the board is trying non standard hardware.

  31.     The reason the screen driver and the keyboard driver are separate are
  32. historical. The original PCs from Greece had the character set in ROM, that
  33. meant that theyone only needed the keyboard driver.Since those are very
  34. expensive to import to the U.S., one needs the screen driver also.

  36.      These programs do NOT work under WINDOWS(TM).The WINDOWS system is
  37. different from plain vanilla DOS. But if you have loaded them before starting
  38. windows then whenever you start a DOS session they will be there waiting for
  39. you.

  48.                 HOW TO USE THEM
  49.  
  50.     Simplicity itself. To switch between GREEK and ENGLISH , press and hold
  51. the CONTROL key down and press the minus "-" key. Careful not the minus on the
  52. numeric keypad but the one next to the "|" key. The stress (½µñª¬) appears after a
  53. a 2 two key combination. First press the ";" key and then the letter you want to
  54. stress , the letter will appear stressed. Dialysis (¢áÿó¼½áíß) work the
  55. same way, only the start key is now ":" which is the shifted version of ";".

  57.      If you want the ":" , or ";" to appear instead of stressing a letter just
  58. tap them twice, or tap a consonant ( ⌐τú¡αñª ) .

  60.     If after exiting some application you try to type some GREEK but instead
  61. you get gibberish, then exit to DOS and issue the "NORMAL" command. That should
  62. reset the computer to bilingual operation.

  65.                           WORD OF WARNING
  66.  
  67.     This is a SOFTWARE only product. This means that I had to patch MS/DOS which
  68. in turn means that not all applications will work with the GREEK characters.
  69.    Well behaved applications that do not access the computer directly but go
  70. through DOS  should have no problems, other weird applications who knows.
  71.     Beware some applications load completely new fonts each time you do
  72. something. Make sure you follow the documentation of each particular application
  73. pertaining to SOFT FONTS.Before buying this package make sure your
  74. COMPUTER/APPLICATION/PRINTER combination works with this GREEK. A prime
  75. example of the above is the Word Perfect program which as of now has no support,
  76. for the HP laser printers.

  78.     The program HP.COM is now bundled and fixes laser printer reset problems.
  79. The program sits on top of the Printer Interrupt and whenever it sees a
  80. character whose ASCII value exceeds 127 (decimal) it turns the printer in the
  81. greek character set. This also implies that to get block characters to be
  82. printed, you have to reset both your computer and your printer.

  87.     Lastly the laser greek printer fonts do not have the IBM block characters
  88. defined. Since I was time strained I put no effort in them. If I decide to
  89. define them in some future release , then there will be no update charges
  90. from me. If your local salesman demands some money talk straight to me.

  92.      A reminder : to use any or all of the above commands first CD into
  93. the subdirectory where the fonts reside , which is by default C:\VGAGREEK.

  168.    Do NOT use ANSI.SYS it is stupid it will NOT work for more than
  169.    25 lines or 80 columns.

  176.                         DOT MATRIX SUPPORT
  177.  
  178.      Support for the Dot Matrix Printers comes in the form of the "LX"
  179. program. To use this program you have to give a different command line parameter
  180. for each printer. A batch file already exists for PANASONIC(tm) printers.
